A Variety of Support Services Are Ensuring a Thriving Community
NDG works with several local community partners and financial institutions to offer a variety of services targeted at advocating for a thriving Northside Community. Programs include but are not limited to:
Assisting in higher education: NDG connects community members with Spartanburg Community College and Spartanburg Methodist College Scholarships, which assist Northside residents attend college.
Stimulating career help: NDG partners with local agencies to offer employment alignment in construction trades, early childcare, and the medical field.
Accelerating business opportunities: NDG partners with the USC Upstate Business School to offer Start:ME, a 14-week business accelerator focused on identifying and developing aspiring entrepreneurs with a focus on localized economic development. The focus of the program is to promote economic development by connecting aspiring and promising entrepreneurs with the necessary tools, skills, and networks that exist in Spartanburg.
Increasing Homeownership and Asset Building: NDG provides potential homebuyers with homebuyer education, financial and budget counseling to better prepare for homeownership.
Down Payment Assistance: NDG offers up to $10,000 in down payment assistance to local heroes working to purchase a home in the Northside.
Preparing families for success: NDG helps families to be successful by offering financial literacy training on basic budgeting, banking, credit, identity theft, and homeowner insurance.
